Google Nest thermostat

Within this article we are going to discuss one of the best thermostats of the last decade which has crept up into our current decade. The Google Nest Learning Thermostat. We will go through the pricing, what it can do, what you will find inside as well as a final thoughts section as to whether we found it to be worth having in our home.

A little background information on the Google Nest Learning Thermostat

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat is roughly based on a machine learning algorithm which essentially means that after a few weeks this machine can regulate itself. This product can learn people’s schedules in a way that when you head out to work it will go into a power saving eco mode. If that isn’t a piece of smart modern technology then we might be a tad biased, but hey, this is a review after all.

The Google Nest learning thermostat system has two components: the thermostat and the Heat Link, which then connects to your boiler. With the newer version, the Heat Link is capable of controlling both the heating and the hot water in your building. In addition to this, you can install as many Google Nest Thermostats into zoned heating systems if you already have one installed.

The Google Nest learning thermostat is quite simple to install, however, you might wish to employ a professional as the Heat Link needs to hook up to a 230 mains power outage.

Some thoughts about the Google nest Learning Thermostat

Design – The design of the thermostat looks quite modern and is quite simple in all honesty, but the main point of the product is to heat your home and isn’t exactly supposed to be an aesthetically pleasing piece of renaissance art. At the end of the day, it’s a smart looking machine that lets you control temperature, schedules and other features as well.

Motion sensor – The Google Nest Learning Thermostat is designed to save money, the way this is achieved is through switching to away mode when the motion sensor picks up that there isn’t anyone home, therefore reducing the set temperature when you head out. It can use up to two methods of determining whether or not to switch into away mode. The first being your phones location and the second being the motion detector that is on the front of the thermostat.

Compatibility with other devices – As we mentioned before the Google Nest Learning Thermostat is compatible with your mobile phone to setup a detector. The thermostat also works with Nest Protect, which was created for the thermostat to display an alert if an alarm goes off in your home, it also decides to shut off your heating if there is carbon monoxide detected.

Our Final Thoughts

All in all, we would definitely suggest buying this product as it can save you a lot of time and in the long run money too. At the moment the price for this product is currently at £199 which is a little expensive for a thermostat but isn’t the most outlandish price. But we approve of the product and would like to give you the go ahead to purchase!

Tell us about your experience with this product in the comment section and let us know what you think about the product if you have already purchased it, as we would love to know your thoughts on this great piece of technology.
